Rat Consortium

The company is currently implementing a Rat Consortium with Pharmaceutical companies, biotechnological companies and leading academic centers.
Its goal will be to develop, validate and use the first Knock out and Knock-in rat models. In this consortium, first models will be developed based on industry expectation and pharmaceutical partners will benefit from an exclusive access to the rat models generated. .
If you are interested in having access to genetically modified rat models, please contact us to join the Rat Consortium
.

Background
In 2000, genOway signed an exclusive collaboration with the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (the French National Agency in charge of the nuclear transfer technologies). This agreement covers the rodent species with a primary focus on Rat. The technologies were co-developed by J.P. Renard's team (INRA, Jouy-en-Josas) and genOway's scientists, for which genOway has exclusive rights.
These technologies are pro-actively protected. This strong IP position is very important for our future partners and customers since it secures their scientific findings from the genetically engineered rat models provided to them.

To this day, the company has the leadership position in rat cloning.

Despite this worldwide exclusivity, the company's strategy is based on R&D partnerships with laboratories that have an established expertise in rat models. Combining genOway's exclusive technologies with its partners' expertise will allow the development of very relevant rat models. These models will provide results of higher quality than mouse models and will increase the global productivity of R&D. Successful models will strongly support the use of our technologies in the biopharmaceutical fields.
To market these technologies, the company is developing a "Rat Consortium" in key therapeutic areas. A biopharmaceutical partner co-designs the rat model and has an exclusive access to the model.
