genOway Services

The production of a genetically modified model to be used for in vivo or in vitro studies is key for the success of these projects.

Producing such a model usually means a very steep financial investment as well as a large time consumption. genOway helps secure your investment by providing you with the most reliable transgenesis services currently on the market.

Regardless of the desired model genOway is asked to develop, we provide outstanding consulting services including, but not limited to:

  • A thorough assessment of the risks and benefits of each project,
  • An analysis of the potential trouble spots during development, and
  • An accurate timeline of the entire development process.

Custom Mouse Models

Knockout (KO)

Conventional Knockout mice (constitutive)
Permanently inactivates a target gene in every cell of the organism.

Tissue-specific Knockout mice (conditional)
Inactivates gene expression in a specific target tissue.

Inducible Knockout mice
Inactivates gene expression in a time-controlled manner.

Safe Knockout
Enables the creation of both: a constitutive and a conditional knockout model of the same target gene.

Knockin (KI)

Humanized mice
Replaces a mouse gene with its human counterpart.

Point mutation mice
Introduces a specific point mutation at a specific nucleotide position within the gene of interest.

Inducible point mutation mice
Introduces a point mutation in a time-controlled manner.

Reporter mice
Introduces a reporter gene into the locus of a target gene in order to monitor the expression of that gene at the transcriptional or translational level. May also be used to monitor protein trafficking.

Rosa26 and Hprt targeted transgenesis
Introduces a safe and targeted insertion of a transgene into the Rosa26 or Hprt locus.

Custom Rat Models

Custom rat model development

Thanks to recent breakthroughs in genome editing, including the CRISPR/Cas9 system, genome modified rat models are being reconsidered:
  • In the study and modeling of human diseases, and
  • For testing the pharmacodynamics and toxicity of potential therapeutic compounds.

Custom Cell Models

Custom cell line development

We offer Knockouts; gene modifications such as tagging, nucleotide substitution, sequence swapping, integration, or replacement; and a comprehensive phenotyping of genetic modifications on RNA and protein levels.

Catalog Models

genOway offers a wide range of tests for the phenotyping of your model, such as behavior & cognition, hematology, respiratory system etc.
