Research summary

This study demonstrates that Netrin-1 (Ntn1) is essential for the survival of SHH-subtype medulloblastomas. Inhibiting Netrin-1 induces tumor cell apoptosis and improves survival in vivo.

Key outcome of the study

Netrin-1 is required for tumor cell survival and represents a viable therapeutic target in SHH-subtype medulloblastoma.

Model

Ntn1^flox/flox mouse model used to conditionally delete Netrin-1 in the brain and assess its role in SHH-medulloblastoma.
