CHGB encodes chromogranin B, a secretory protein expressed in neuroendocrine cells and involved in hormone storage and secretion. It is widely used as a marker of neuroendocrine tissues. The Chgb-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Chgb-expressing neuroendocrine cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying endocrine signaling, hormone secretion, and neuroendocrine biology.
