CRYGB encodes gamma-crystallin B, a structural protein expressed in the lens of the eye and essential for maintaining lens transparency and optical properties. Crystallins are critical for lens development and function. The Crygb-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Crygb-expressing ocular cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying lens biology, eye development, and ocular diseases such as cataracts.
