GATA2 is a transcription factor essential for hematopoietic stem cell maintenance and vascular development. It is expressed in hematopoietic progenitors and endothelial cells, where it regulates gene expression programs involved in blood and vessel formation. The Gata2-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Gata2-expressing cells following tamoxifen administration.
