IL7 encodes interleukin-7, a cytokine essential for lymphocyte development, survival, and homeostasis. It is expressed in stromal cells of lymphoid organs and plays a critical role in T cell and B cell biology. The Il7-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Il7-expressing stromal and immune-supporting cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is particularly suited for studying immune system development, lymphoid tissue function, and immunological disorders.
