NKX2-6 is a homeobox transcription factor involved in cardiac development and early embryonic patterning. It is expressed in developing heart tissues and plays a role in cardiogenesis and organ formation. The Nkx2-6-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Nkx2-6-expressing cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying heart development, congenital defects, and developmental biology.
