PDE1B encodes a phosphodiesterase involved in cyclic nucleotide signaling and is highly expressed in specific neuronal populations of the brain, including regions involved in motor control and reward pathways. It plays a role in regulating intracellular signaling cascades. The Pde1b-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Pde1b-expressing neuronal cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying neuronal signaling, behavior, and neurological disorders.
