SFRP1 encodes a secreted modulator of Wnt signaling that regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue patterning. Its expression is observed in multiple tissues, particularly during development and in epithelial and stromal compartments. The Sfrp1-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Sfrp1-expressing cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying Wnt signaling, tissue development, and disease processes involving dysregulated signaling pathways.
