TTC21A is associated with primary cilia function and is expressed in tissues where ciliary signaling plays a key role, including developmental and epithelial contexts. Ciliary proteins such as TTC21A are critical for signaling pathways involved in tissue patterning and organ development. The Ttc21a-CreERT2 mouse line enables inducible, temporal control of genetic recombination in Ttc21a-expressing ciliated cells following tamoxifen administration. This model is suitable for studying gene function in cilia biology, developmental processes, and signaling pathways associated with ciliopathies.
