Knockout and reporter models

Our off-the-shelf Knockout & reporter models are well established, validated and widely used mouse and rat lines.

Knockout models

Knockout models, a cornerstone in biomedical research, involve the targeted inactivation of specific genes to understand their function. By "knocking out" a gene, you can observe the resulting phenotype changes, shedding light on the gene's role in health and disease.

Platforms like the European Conditional Mouse Mutagenesis Program contribute significantly, providing a standardized approach to generating and studying Knockout mice. These models are instrumental in deciphering gene functions, offering crucial insights into molecular pathways and potential therapeutic targets.

Reporter models

Reporter models are genetically modified with reporter genes, like fluorescent proteins, to enable real-time visualization of specific biological processes.

They serve as invaluable tools for researchers, providing dynamic insights into disease progression, treatment responses, and the effects of genetic modifications.

By observing the behavior of reporter genes in living animals, scientists gain a deeper understanding of complex biological mechanisms, making these models indispensable in advancing biomedical research.
